Ruffians and Daniel Galvin choose superbly designed Takara Belmont chairs to complement their new ventures.
Situated just around the corner from Harley Street in London, the new Ruffians barbershop adopts a slightly ‘medicinal’ theme. White tiling and bright lighting, mix with solid-oak cutting tables and are beautifully offset by Takara Belmont’s iconic ‘Apollo 2 barber chair’, custom-upholstered in bespoke ‘Ruffians Blue’. Exposed brickwork and old steel beams feature heavily in the salon, whilst the interior draws inspiration from the outside, pulling in elements from everyday life and interesting places, and even a Scottish heritage – no Ruffians barbershop would be complete without a traditional Scottish Tunnock’s Tea Cake!
And what a success. Ruffians’ new premises sits in perfect harmony with the brand’s identity and the combination of wood, brick, steel and blue leather makes it a very welcoming, relaxed and charming barbershop – we love it!
Conversely, the thinking at the new, luxe Daniel Galvin salon nearby is to take inspiration from a ‘homely trend’. Here the intention is to offer a reassuring, relaxing and inviting environment to their clients that quite simply makes them feel perfectly at home. This new Daniel Galvin salon, is set within the iconic Selfridges department store on London’s Oxford St, and is reminiscent of a modern loft-style apartment. Here we discover Takara Belmont’s contemporary Adria II chairs and the newly launched RS Adria II backwash. Both lend the salon experience comfort and luxury – the perfect balance between timeless style and functionality! The whole proposition is stylish yet accessible, and very good-looking indeed.
